Under the initiative by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt of India, to promote use of piped natural gas as an economical, clean, reliable and an eco-friendly fuel Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL), a J.V. of two Navratna Public Sector Undertakings GAIL (India) Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd & Govt. of Maharashtra (thru MIDC) has been working extensively towards planning, laying & setting up infrastructure for city gas distribution network in and around Pune.
